What can I donate?

At Plantenasiel Haarlem, you can donate houseplants and cuttings of houseplants donating. If your plant has grown too big, for example, or if it isn't doing so well indoors. It may also be that you've simply grown tired of it; that is completely fine.

Garden plants unfortunately we cannot not put in the shelter.

Apart from houseplants and cuttings, plant-related accessories are also welcome. Think of pots, moss poles, or leftover potting soil. 

How do I donate?

Als je een plant wilt doneren aan het Plantenasiel kan je tijdens onze openingstijden langskomen en de plant brengen. Twijfel je of een plant nog goed genoeg is om gedoneerd te worden? Stuur ons dan een persoonlijk bericht via de mail. Stuur het liefst een foto mee! Voordat een plant wordt opgenomen in ons asiel, willen we graag nog wat dingen weten.

What do you want to know?

If you want to donate a plant, we would love to know why you are getting rid of it, so that we can possibly take that into account when caring for the plant.

Daarnaast willen wij graag weten of de plant misschien last heeft van beestjes of ziek is. Dit, omdat wij willen voorkomen dat andere asielplanten besmet worden. Beestjes kunnen zich presenteren in de vorm van rouwvliegjes in de potgrond, of witte/grijze/bruine/zwarte beestjes op of onder de bladeren of op de stelen. Is dit het geval bij je plant? Laat dit dan weten. Dan zoeken we samen naar een oplossing.

Where can I donate?

You are welcome at Tuesday evening between 19:00 and 21:00 at Alleman community centre.

Should you really not be able to make it within that timeframe, we will try to schedule another time. Dropping something off outside of our opening hours is therefore only possible by appointment.

Do I need to pay when donating a plant?

Donating a plant is completely free. Wij kunnen helaas geen vergoeding geven voor donaties.

May I adopt a plant in exchange for the plant I donate?

You can certainly adopt a plant when you come to make a donation.
